Direct Support Professional II
At The Cooperating Community Programs (The CCP) our Direct Support Professionals II (DSP II) are a huge asset to our company. Our DSP IIs are responsible for working directly with our consumers and helping them through a variety of responsibilities. Some of these responsibilities include
- Documenting progress on desired outcomes and goals
- Ensuring the safety of the consumers
- Obtain knowledge of the consumers, their likes & dislikes, behaviors & diagnosis.
- Therapeutic interventions
- Assisting the consumers in daily life
Other Responsibilities including being a resource for our DSPs. Often DSP IIs are given special privilege to delegate tasks and have other minimal supervisory privileges.
The Direct Support Professional II is a great position for the “people person” someone who exhibits patience and understanding. This is a great position for persons with previous experience providing excellent care to persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness and/or traumatic brain injury. The CCP recognizes these special talents and additional monetary compensation is offered.
