Position Title: Family Services Counselor (FSC)
Description: As a FSC you will work a designated schedule in an individual's home or our Respite House, to implement their goals. You will help them build skills, which encourage them to become as independent as possible. Typically, this includes individual living and community inclusion skills. Some examples of these activities might include:
- Independent Living: Dressing, Bathing, Cooking, Eating, Self Preservation, At Home Leisure, and Behavior Management
- Community Inclusion: Traveling, Making Friends, Socializing, Communicating, Using Neighborhood Resources, Community Safety, and Recreation
Type of Position Available: FSC is typically a part-time position Time of Shifts: Monday through Friday, afternoons and evenings; weekends, morning, day, evening and overnights. Length of Shifts: Shifts are typically 3 to 6 hours in length on the weekdays, 6 to 12 hours on the weekends. Locations: Anoka , Dakota, Hennepin, and Ramsey Counties . Wage: Starting wage is $9.77 per hour. Experience: As an FSC, it is not necessary to have previous experience working with individuals with special needs, we provide in-depth training. However, there are certain times when previous experience is required. General Requirements: must have a valid Driver's License, a car and car insurance. ***
Position Title: Family Service Specialist ( FSS )/Floater
Description: As a FSS /Floater, you will work a “floating” schedule in an individual's home or our Respite House, to implement their goals. FSS /Floaters are subject to last minute changes in their schedule. Flexibility in scheduling/availability is essential to this position. You will help them build skills, which encourage them to become as independent as possible. Typically, this includes individual living and community inclusion skills. Some examples of these activities might include:
- Independent Living: Dressing, Bathing, Cooking, Eating, Self Preservation, At Home Leisure, and Behavior Management
- Community Inclusion: Traveling, Making Friends, Socializing, Communicating, Using Neighborhood Resources, Community Safety, and Recreation
Type of Position Available: Both Full-time (guaranteed 35 hrs/wk) and Part-time positions are available. Time of Shifts: Morning, Day, evening and overnight hours are available, 7 days a week. Some shifts may be a requirement. Length of Shifts: Shifts are typically 3 to 6 hours in length on the weekdays, 6 to 12 hours on the weekends. Locations : Anoka , Dakota, Hennepin, and Ramsey Counties . Wage: Starting wage is $13.02 per hour. The FSS /Floater position also receives a monthly mileage stipend. Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is required. General Requirements: must have a valid Driver's License, a car and car insurance.
